My Roots

My name is Erin Swart and I live in Warner Robins, GA.  I am a certified doula, serving the middle Georgia area.  Birth (and anything associated with it) has been a part of my life as long as I can remember.  My mom is a midwife and I had my first “doula” job at the age of 10.  I remember thinking how the process was so beautiful and how powerful the woman was.  I counted for her during her pushing.  I didn’t know then that birth would become a huge part of my life.  I grew up, married my high school sweetheart, moved around with the military, and had my own babies.  I went to school to be a massage therapist. Then, one day, I had a friend that needed some support during her labor.  So, I offered to help.  It was so amazing. I loved every minute of it!  She was wonderful!  After that, I started to help my friends when they needed someone. I have been a doula for 4 years now and had the honor of being part of many birth stories.  I have been known to say that although I love babies, I love parents the most.  There is nothing like walking with a couple on their path to parenthood.  Supporting them as a unit and helping them find their voice never gets old.   I have been married for 22 years to my marvelous husband, Tom, and have 2 beautiful kids, Thomas and Sierra.  I am so honored to be able to help families during this intimate part of their lives.
